NAFC FC Beaver runs Raymond for Sheriff
&
Birddog's Simply Irresistible
and/or
Birddog's Angel Grace

We have had our eyes on Big Ray for a long time, even before he became the 2023 National Amateur Field Champion!

We want to produce big, beautiful puppies that can go any direction! The goal is to produce puppies that will be perfect for various kinds of field work all the while being your best buddy in the home.

We believe that both Freya and Angel would make excellent crosses with Raymond. We have not decided if we will do one or both of these girls. Of course Angel needs to obtain her official health clearances first and they are scheduled for early January as soon as she turns 2.

Tentative Schedules:

Freya is due in heat anytime. This should be about a 50/50 black and yellow litter. Depending on Freya’s heat cycle, her litter will likely be ready to go May-June.

Angel due in heat February/March. This should be about 75% black and 25% yellow litter. Pending her official health clearances results and timing of her heat cycle, Angel’s litter will likely be ready June/July.

NAFC FC Beaver Run's Raymond for Sheriff

Raymond is a big beautiful black male that has a performance record that speaks for itself! He is the 2023 winner of the National Amateur Retriever Championship!

Raymond’s owner Leigh describes Raymond as a big goofball! He is very expressionistic and overall just a big happy boy. He lives in the house and sleeps on the bed every night. He has a great off switch in the house and goes to work with Leigh. Raymond turns on the turbo charge when it comes to training and competing. He LOVES it!

Raymond is a son of Hall of Fame Retriever FC AFC Lane’s Lets Get Ready to Rumble “Ali” and Canadian Field Champion CFC Pilkington’s Perspicacity “Cassie”. Cassie comes from a strong proven performance line that is a little different than the typical field trial pedigree found in the USA. We have had our eyes on Cassie’s pedigree for years. She is a littermate to two other Canadian Field Champions as well as AFC Sidney Down The Bayou “Gator”. Those that have followed Bird Dog Labs for years, may recognize “Gator” as the stud we had originally selected for our Remi’s very first litter. That breeding unfortunately did not take, but we have always kept that lineage in the back of our mind. Because of that line, we have had our eyes on Raymond long before he won this year’s NAFC title. Raymond’s ability to perform is undeniable!  He qualified and has ran in 4 National Retriever Championships (2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023). In 2021 he was a NRC Finalist. Raymond ran and won the 2023 National Amateur Retriever Championship. He is qualified to run the NARC in 2024!

Birddog's Simply Irresistible "Freya"

Freya is an absolutely gorgeous, slightly smaller version of her show-stopper mom, Remi MH.  Freya is simply stunning.  She catches the eyes of everyone that meets her. What is even better is that Freya is an absolute sweet heart! She loves to work and gives her all in training as well when we are hunting.  She has always had a strong natural on/off to her. She automatically knows when to turn on “beast mode” just as she knows when it is time to just relax. Freya is a true athlete. She is very powerful, agile, tenacious and fast in the field. She takes on obstacles with ease and speed, yet she doesn’t do things dangerously. Freya has always been a methodical mover and hunter. Freya is a big team player and does whatever she can to please. She is also one of the most affectionate dogs we have. Freya loves her cuddle time as well as giving and receiving affection.

NAFC FC Raymond X Angel : Information below

Birddog's Angel Grace

Angel was an unplanned keeper from our January 2022 litter between Phoenix and Dizzy. The entire litter had been reserved, but we had a last minute back out for a black female. This turned out to be a complete gift. Angel was the female that became available and I just couldn’t let her go. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made.

Angel was named after her great grandma Grace (my foundation female that passed away 2 weeks shy of her 15th birthday in February 2022). Angel had many traits that reminded me of Grace, but also had even more that took after her dad Phoenix. Little did I know at the time, but this was our very last litter from Phoenix. Angel was and continues to be a daily reminder of how precious of a gift she is.

Angel has grown into an absolutely gorgeous, big powerful female. She has the ultimate personality with a huge desire to please. Angel is so similar to how Phoenix was. In the field she is a true team player, a very quick learner and fabulous marker. Angel absolutely loves to work, but is not the kind of dog that needs to every day. She has a strong natural on/off to her. She is so chill in the house. Angel has many of her dad’s silly traits too! She does sneaky drive by gentle kisses. She also does what I called the “itchy butt dance” that Phoenix would do while swirling between my legs. She literally makes me laugh all the time. Angel was a very quick maturing dog and what I call a gentle soul. Because of how sweet and gentle she was with little puppies even at an early age, Angel quickly became one of my “puppy socializers.” This is a very special role that is only given to my most trusted dogs. My canine puppy socializers are part of our puppy development program. This is something that is completely unique to Bird Dog Labs.
Angel will be obtaining her official health clearances in January 2024. As long as everything goes as planned, she will enter our breeding program after that.
